In the next couple of photos you will see why the client asked us to reproduce these french doors. The black strip between the doors is to block the draft due to a huge gap. The wood was old and worn out and the doors' hardware was a nuisance as well. Custom making these doors was the best option for fit and craftsmanship.
A close-up of the deteriorated wood and paint including the hardware which wasn't able to be secured properly. Note the wood on the individual glass panes that is also in rough shape. Simply stripping the doors and repainting would not fix any of the other issues.
Old-world craftsmanship meets today's tools. Our door and windows are built using a centuries old process of mortise and tenons glued together for a perfect and virtually seamless fit.
